A key safe enables secure access to your property in the event of an emergency. Store your keys in a convenient, secure location indoors or outdoors with a police approved push-button combination lock. The C500 Key Safe can boast the title ‘As secure as your front door’. It has been designed following extensive consultation with users and has a large enough storage capacity for up to 6 keys.
Keys can only be accessed through opening the safe using a unique code that we are able to give to appropriate individuals, such as members of the police or ambulance service, if and when, necessary.
A key safe is essential if you would like to have a monitored service, such as our popular personal alarm service, but have no-one who lives nearby who holds keys to your property.
The Supra C500 Outdoor Key Safe was designed after extensive consultation with users and has police approval for being tested on outside walls. This approval is recognised by ‘Secured By Design’, as well as by leading home insurance companies.
This mechanical key safe box has achieved LPS 1175: Issue 6, Security Rating 1 security rating which means it has undergone a series of rigorous and demanding tests devised by security experts (the LPCB) who concluded that, when installed as directed, the Supra C500 is as attack resistant as a domestic front door.
Please note to maintain the Police Accreditation the C500 must be installed into brick or dense concrete, not breeze block or mortar. When installed and used as intended, this key safe is covered by a 2 year guarantee against manufacturing faults.
This key safe is supplied complete with a weather cover and 4 x wall tapping screws that do not require wall plugs.
Once we receive your order an Eldercare customer care adviser will contact you to arrange a convenient time for an installer to fit your key safe. Installation can usually be arranged within 5 working days of your order being placed, depending upon your location and availability.
How many keys will the key safe hold?
The key safe can store up to six keys.
Who will fit my key safe?
Your key safe will be fitted by a trained engineer who will ensure that it is installed in line with police accreditation and manufacturer warranty requirements.
What will I need for the engineer?
You will need a five or six digit code that you will easily remember, as well as a set of keys to your property that can be stored in the key safe.
How will people access my property in an emergency?
We ask you to make sure that access can be gained to your home, especially if you cannot answer the door yourself. If there is no-one who can act as a key holder for you who is always available and who lives nearby, then you must ensure that you have a key safe and that the keys you supply will open the door.
You will also need to make sure that there are no hazards on your property, both inside and outside, such as dangerous animals. It is most important that you make sure we can always gain access. Only use locks that the keys you supply will open, and do not make use of chains or bolts that prevent services gaining entry. You can of course have a chain that you put on before you open the door so that you can check who is calling.
We, or the emergency services, may need to enter if we receive an alarm call. If we cannot gain entry by key, we may have to arrange forced entry to make sure you are alright. We will not be responsible for any damage caused in this way or costs incurred due to damage caused to affect an entry.
What happens to the information that you hold about me, such as the key code?
The information that you provide to Eldercare is held securely and handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2016. We will need to use the data you provide when you contact us for assistance and we may need to share your information with agencies such as doctors or the emergency services.
